Well, I would love to post some pictures of the restore, unfortunately, you'll find them a bit boring. More sheet rock and demolition on the inside, but I promise more updates or are developing. I took a bit of a pause on the inside for a few reasons, but now I'm back into the swing of things. New job, my oldest heading to college, and lots of other exciting opportunities allowed for new adventures that I'm glad I was able to enjoy. Also, I tried my best to focus on the landscaping of the house since it was summer. While the rain hindered some of the progress, I did make some small dents in this journey.
My goal this summer was to paint the garage. To do this I had to scrape the exterior paint, which, of course led to more obstacles. The back of the garage was covered in weeds and debris. In order to scrape the back of the shed I had to dig through a ton of growth. I uncovered 22 car tires, some filled with concrete, some pipes of various sizes, a metal fence, and a lot of growth. On a more positive note, I uncovered grapes, raspberries, and blueberry bushes. My garden at home took a bit of a beating this summer with the rain, so it was a nice surprise to see some life and potential for growth for next summer in this restore.
After clearing out the weeds and transplanting the grapes and berries, I also uncovered a pumpkin patch. Yes, four enormous pumpkins are growing in the back of the shed and a few other little one's developing. Have I started painting the garage? Um, no, but I do have a color picked out and I'm close to done with scraping the old paint off. So many things I wanted to accomplish this summer, but instead I took a different route. I enjoyed spending time with friends and family members that I haven't seen in a while. The journey of summer was eventful. I can't wait to see what Fall will uncover.
